PHO's goals

The Planetary Health Organization (PHO) is an international non-governmental medical organization (NGO) headquartered in Israel.

We believe in professional care, respect, and love.

PHO's  Mission

  • Providing professional information on human health matters
  • Offering support to individuals and communities
  • Shaping the health research agenda
  • Articulating evidence-based policy options
  • Establishing new norms and standards
  • Assessing health trends.

"Primum non nocere" is a Latin phrase that translates to "first, do no harm." It serves as a guiding principle in healthcare and aligns with the core values of the Planet Health Organization (PHO). The slogan emphasizes the importance of prioritizing patient safety and well-being above all else. It reminds healthcare professionals to approach their work with caution, integrity, and a commitment to minimizing harm while delivering effective and compassionate care.

At PHO, we uphold this principle to ensure that our actions and initiatives prioritize the health and welfare of individuals and communities.

PHO's Strategy and Objectives

The idea of building a society capable of fixing and improving our world ("Tikun Olam") has deep roots in the ancient tradition of the Jewish people. The Planetary Health Organization (PHO) is wholeheartedly dedicated to collaboration and taking decisive action to transform the vision of a brighter future into a tangible reality today.

We actively collaborate with local, national, and international organizations to develop, implement, and advocate for effective practices in disease prevention, treatment, and control. Together, we strive to make a lasting impact on global health and well-being.

Our immediate and pressing task is to safeguard and enhance our world for the benefit of its current inhabitants and in recognition of our responsibility to future generations. We take pride in the active and valuable role that PHO plays in this global endeavor.

Some of the UN goals that are particularly relevant to PHO's work include:

  • Good Health and Well-being - PHO's focus on promoting public health, disease prevention, and improving overall well-being directly contributes to this goal.
  • Clean Water and Sanitation - PHO's initiatives related to water quality, sanitation, and hygiene play a crucial role in achieving this goal.
  • Life on Land - PHO's commitment to protecting biodiversity, ecosystems, and wildlife health contributes to the conservation and sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems.
  • Partnerships for the Goals - PHO's collaboration with local, national, and international organizations exemplifies its commitment to fostering partnerships to achieve the goals collectively.

PHO supports Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) to ensure the efficient implementation of our projects on a global scale.
